Chloe: Well, it’s partly because of how easy they are. No expensive products or extreme skills needed. Just grab a brow spoolie and some soap, and voila – fluffy brows! Plus, celebs on Instagram have really glamorized them.
Jimmy: You’ve mentioned heavy makeup is out in 2023. Why the shift?
Chloe: We’ve been through a massive pandemic, Jimmy. People were stuck at home, and heavy makeup just became…impractical. We want quick, easy looks that breathe and feel good. Hence, the ‘barely there’ makeup explosion.
Jimmy: Yet we see trends from the past coming back, like dark lip liner. What makes 90s trends resurface every now and then?
Chloe: Nostalgia! The 90s were iconic in pop culture. Fashion and beauty were loud and bold, which is why people remix those trends. They evoke memories and provide endless room for creativity.
Jimmy: So, what are your thoughts on the bold blush trend?
Chloe: I’m all over it! It’s vibrant and refreshing. It’s like, ‘why contour when you can glow?’ Having blush that stands out really adds that youthful, energetic pop.
Jimmy: Bright pink lipstick is also making a comeback. Why pink, though?
Chloe: Pink brings life! It’s youthful, versatile, and with so many shades, you can always find one that suits you. Plus, it’s spring! People generally gravitate towards brighter, happier tones in warmer seasons.
Jimmy: Do you think the luminous look trend will continue beyond this year?
Chloe: Absolutely. Glossy textures have become a staple, not just on lips but on eyelids and cheeks. It’s the effortless glow everyone wants – no filter needed.
Jimmy: With glitter becoming another big thing, how do you keep it from looking over the top?
Chloe: The key is balance. Glitter on one feature at a time usually does the trick. A subtle pop on eyelids or cheekbones adds the flair without the clown effect.
Jimmy: Let’s talk about shimmer and shine. Are there limits to how much sparkle one should wear?
Chloe: I say ‘less is more’… unless you’re at a festival or special event! Shimmers and shines can enhance any look; the trick is knowing when to go big or keep it minimal.
